Happy New Year from VNS

0

Happy New Year ! It’s just 2 weeks into the new year and already Christmas is becoming a distant memory . With the weather so unpredictable at the moment it’s also making it hard to remember we are actually in the middle of summer.

We have been working hard throughout the holiday period to keep all our clients staffed and our staff in work and now are focused on the year ahead. It’s  been busy here in the office as we have seen increased bookings as compared to this time of the year normally. So to all of our staff – keep us informed with your availabilities as we have work coming in.

VNS is looking forward to another successful year and working with all of our valued clients and also will be looking to broaden our opportunities for our staff with new clients and new locations.  If you are looking for a break away from Melbourne and the chance to explore new areas – give us a call as we are sourcing contract work as another option for our staff.

Christmas is almost here

0

With less than 2 weeks now to Christmas we are flat out trying to fill all of the shifts coming in from facilities across Melbourne in what is always a busy time.  If you are looking for some extra money for Christmas call us now for a shift!

We’re also getting into the festive season with social events. On Friday night the VNS office enjoyed dinner out at a winery to celebrate Christmas together. Our party for all of our nurses 2 weeks ago was a great success with a great turnout enjoying the venue and fantastic food and drinks. We had one lucky winner of our door prize which was a hamper. Many of us in the office liked the contents of the hamper and so it was lucky to make it to the party.

Countdown to Christmas already?

0

Suddenly Christmas is just around the corner it seems. With Christmas decorations going up around Melbourne and the television full of Christmas ads we can’t ignore it any more. Christmas is coming soon.

We’re getting lots of rsvp’s for the VNS Christmas party on December 1st and we are looking forward to seeing all of our staff . We’re trying to make sure we get as many of the staff along –  so spread the word to other VNS nurses, pca’s and allied health staff to call and rsvp if they haven’t already. We’ve got a great venue that the office staff tried a few months ago so it promises to be a good night.

As always we will be on the look out for staff available for us during this busy period – if you need some extra money for Christmas give us a call as we would love to hear from you!

VNS Christmas Party – Save the date!

0

As October draws to a close and the weather is showing signs of summer approaching it also means Christmas is on the way.  Whilst it is always a busy time of the year for everyone ,VNS looks forward to the annual party for all of our agency staff to catch up. It’s our way of saying thank you to all of our staff for their hard work during the year – this includes our fantastic nurses, personal care workers, theatre techs, instrument techs and clinical educators. Our party is booked for Thursday 1st December at a great venue – watch out for your invitation in the mail.

As always we are on the look out for staff to help us meet the demand from our clients. If you know anyone looking for some extra money before Christmas make sure to recommend them to us – remember we have a $250 referral bonus payable of the person you refer works at least 5 shifts in their first month.

Can it really be October already?

0

Can you believe it is already October?! Where has the year gone? This morning the VNS office is basking in sunshine and we’re hoping after the recent rain that spring is really on its way.

We held drinks in the office the week before last and it was great to have some our new nurses come in for a drink and give us the opportunity to get to know them a bit better. It was great to see people meet who often work in the same hospitals in the same areas but have never met each other. I guess the next thing we need to think about is Christmas and what we will organise for our staff.

We are in the second week of the school holidays and it is continuing to be busy. We’ve got plenty of work available for anyone looking for extra work as it seems things are not slowing down for the holidays across many of the hospitals. Give VNS a call if you have some availabilities and would like some work or just to say hello.

Drinks in the VNS office

0

It’s on again – we’re gearing up for drinks for our nurses in the VNS office next Wednesday 21st September  from 4-5.30. We love have people dropping into the office and saying hello but often it may only be 1 person that gets to say hello as things can get pretty busy around here.

By setting up a this time we can be more organised and stop and chat over a glass of wine and catch up with our nurses properly. One of the challenges for us is that we may speak to our nurses over the phone constantly but never get to see you all as you are spread all over Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and other regional areas.

We’ve had some lovely feedback this week  about our service from some of new ex code blue nurses which is great . We are really happy to have them on board and hope to see many of them again back in the office to get to know them better.

With the school holidays coming up we’re expecting to be as busy as we were last holidays so if you are thinking about picking up some extra work make sure to give us a call and put your availabilities in!

Welcome to our Code Blue nurses

0

It’s been another busy week here at VNS interviewing and getting Code Blue nurses in and working. We’ve met lots of lovely people and we are very happy to have them join our fantastic team of nurses.  One thing we have really picked up on is the loyalty of this group of nurses which is a really nice thing to see - our aim is to build the same relationship with them. We’re going to have drinks in the office again soon and hope to see many of our new staff here and mingling with others. Watch this space for more details for drinks…

Code Blue nurses

0

Today we have had some calls from nurses who have been working with another nursing agency called Code Blue. It seems that the agency has closed today and we have had calls from nurses who have been working with them (for many years in some cases) who are wondering what their next step should be. We will welcome any nurses who would like to join the VNS team as we are always on the look out for well qualified and experienced nurses. We’ve already had increased bookings coming through so please give us a call to see what we can do for you. We want to keep valued nurses in the workforce and let people keep the flexible lifestyle that being an agency nurse gives you.
