Joining the Team:

Why should I join VNS?

If you are looking for flexibility and work that suits your lifestyle join VNS. As a well respected agency we are able to offer a variety of work in public and private hospitals as well as other healthcare facilities across Melbourne, Geelong and regional Victoria. We offer excellent pay rates and opportunities for training as well as focusing on providing support to all of our staff.


Does VNS employ graduate nurses?

Unfortunately VNS is not able to employ Registered Nurses who have not completed a graduate year or a minimum of 12 months post graduate experience as a Registered Nurse.


Do I need qualifications to work as a PCA or PSA?

All staff employed as a PCA must have a Certificate III in Aged Care. PSA staff should have a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance. You will also need at least 6 months paid experience.


Salary and Pay:

When is Pay Day?

VNS pays all staff weekly on receipt of a docket. All agency dockets must be at the agency by Monday Midday. Payroll is processed on Thursday and will be in your account on Friday morning. If there is a Public Holiday in the week please check with the office for any special arrangements for payroll that week.


How can I submit my dockets?

You can submit your dockets by

  3. Post to PO BOX 198, Surrey Hills VIC 3127
  4. Drop into the office in person


If you fax or email your dockets please call between 0900-1700 to check they have been received and are legible.


How do I receive my payslips?

You will receive a payslip each week after your timesheets have been processed. Payroll is processed on Thursday and you will receive your payslip via email or post


Visa and Work Rights

Does VNS offer sponsorship for overseas nurses?

Yes VNS does offer sponorship to highly qualified Nurses and Midwives with a minimum of 3 years experience, including Acute Care, Crticial Care, Medical-Surgical (all areas), Accident & Emergency, Theatre and Midwifery. Please note that conditions apply and the usual recruitment process will need to be undertaken in order to be a successful candidate.


Can I work with VNS on my Working Holiday Visa?

VNS welcomes nurses and allied health staff here on a working holiday visa.

How do I access My VNS?

Call the office on (03) 9898 7000 to get your user name and password in order to log into the system.


My account is locked

As per the Terms and Conditions of 'My VNS' we will lock your account if you are no longer actively working with VNS or if you have not abided by the Terms and Conditions.
